Ik ben er wat laat mee, maar toch de beste wensen nog iedereen! Het lijkt misschien een wat stil begin van het nieuwe jaar, maar niets is minder waar. Het nieuwe jaar werd feestelijk en muzikaal ingeluid tijdens het oud&nieuw feest Amsterdams Glorie van het DJ-Isis label All Is One. Daniel Zuur en ik traden op het magische 00:00u moment aan om Hotel Arena op z'n kop te zetten. Gelukkig hebben we de foto's nog!

Ondertussen is van alles gaande achter de schermen. De opnames van het tweede album zijn afgerond en ik kan nog weinig verklappen, behalve dat het geweldig wordt. Een piepklein voorproefje dan... Naast het mixen en masteren, artwork, nieuwe website wordt er aan allerlei dingen gewerkt om het album straks zo krachtig mogelijk te presenteren. To be continued...

Ondertussen heeft het Eurosonic Noorderslag festival weer plaatsgevonden. Naast een hoop gezelligheid levert dat goede contacten op en daarbij ook de gelegenheid muziekbroeders en -zusters te zien spelen. Zo speelden zowel Eefje de Visser als de mannen van Krach op Noorderslag. Beiden hebben hun debuut plaat uitgebracht die te beluisteren is op de 3voor12 Luisterpaal. Op de plaat van Eefje heb ik nog een paar kleine gastbijdragen. 

De zondag na het ES/NS festijn kwam de Deense band My Bubba & Mi bij ons thuis in de woonkeuken optreden. Ik, Koen Zinnemers, en Goodwin Sands  verzorgden een klein voorprogramma. De keuken barstte haast uit haar voegen, zo veel mensen waren er op af gekomen. Over de onvergetelijke avond heb ik een blog geschreven.

Een goed begin van het nieuwe jaar dus!

I know I'm a little late, but happy new year everyone! It may seem a little quiet, but there's actually a lot of stuff going on. 2011 started pretty loud and exciting during the new years eve party Amsterdams Glorie, organized by DJ Isis' label All Is One. Daniel Zuur and I had the honour to kick off the new year in Hotel Arena right after the magic countdown. A picture says more than a thousand words.

Meanwhile a lot of stuff is going on behind the scenes. The recordings for the second alum are done and though I have to be a little mysterious about it, I can tell you it's gonna be awesome! Well, just a little sample then... Besides mixing and mastering, artwork, a new website, there's a lot of things that need to be done so the album release will have as much impact as possible. In the meantime the Eruosonic Noorderslag 2011 festival has already passed. I did a lot of spontaneous networking and got to see some of my music brothers and sisters. Both Eefje de Visser and the Krach guys were present at Noorderslag and just released their debut album. Listen to them on the 3voor12 Luisterpaal. On Eefje's record I contributed some vocals by the way. 

Sunday the 16th of January right after the ES/NS festival, the Danish band My Bubba & Mi were attending our home in Utrecht for a living room concert. Me, Koen Zinnemers, and Goodwin Sands  jumped in as their support acts. The kitchen almost collapsed due to the enourmous amount of people that had shown up. I wrote a little blog about the unforgettable evening..

Bio

De muziek van Florian Wolff doet verlangen naar zomeravonden op het strand, naar de dansvloer, of naar pantoffels op een houten vloer. De zorgvuldig gecomponeerde feelgood popsongs liggen soepel in het gehoor, maar het is niet alleen happiness wat de klok slaat. Op goed gekozen momenten schraapt de naald over de groef van een groezelige plaat en komt de rauwe kant van de songwriter naar boven.

In de herfst van 2008 verscheen Florians debuutalbum Catching Up, Standing Still. Een full-length dat het brede kleurenpalet van Wolff’s muzikaliteit liet zien. Na een finaleplaats in de Grote Prijs van Nederland staat Florian op Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen. Terplekke wordt hij naast o.a. Bertolf en Kyteman benoemd tot Serious Talent van 3FM. In dat kader is hij te gast bij onder meer Giel Beelen, Gerard Ekdom en Michiel Veenstra en is de single ‘The Best Girl’ veelvuldig op 3FM te beluisteren.

In vervolg op het radio ‘succes’ volgt een reeks optredens in het voorprogramma van de nationale tour van ex-Idols winnaar Boris, en Serious Talent collega’s Bertolf en Miss Montreal. Van 013 Tilburg tot Romein Leeuwarden wordt er voor uitverkochte zalen gespeeld en een groot nieuw publiek bereikt. Ook door maarliefst de helft van alle Popronde-steden aan te doen speelde Florian in 2009 door heel Nederland.

In de zomer van 2010 gaat Florian met band verschillende festivals in het land aan doen met een zelf ontwikkelt concept: The Green Tour. Een tour op een eigen ‘groen’ podium waar de energie voor de show komt van de zon, wind en het publiek. Door het gebruik van een vrachtwagen op biogas levert het vervoer van evenement naar evenement nauwelijks schade op voor het milieu. Het streven naar duurzaamheid zit in de muziekonderneming van Florian genesteld. Zo is het debuutalbum in een geheel gerecyclede en ecologisch verantwoord bedrukte cd-hoes geperst, en zijn bandshirts van bio-katoen en bamboe.

Na The Green Tour, medio september 2010, zal het tweede album van Florian worden uitgebracht. De feelgood sound wordt doorgezet maar in een rauwer jasje gestoken.

Florian Wolff's music makes you long for summer evenings on the beach, for the dancefloor, or for slippers on a wooden floor. Listening to Wolff's carefully composed songs is a pleasant pastime. But it’s not snug and cozy all the time. At the right moments he opens the windows: a cold draught runs through the house. Wolff takes the wrong train, ends up in a 'wrong state of mind' and shows us the inside of it all.

n fall 2008 the debut album Catching Up, Standing Still is released. A mature full length record that clearly shows all the colours of Wolff's musicality. After reaching the finals of the national music competition de Grote Prijs van Nederland, Florian performs at the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival. On the spot he's gets the title Serious Talent of the well-known radiostation 3FM which results in serious airtime for the single 'The Best Girl'.

In continuation of the radiosucces Florian takes part in several tours opening for ex-Idols winner Boris, Bertolf and Miss Montreal. Wolff and his band play throughout the country for sold out venues, reaching a very large new audience. Being part of the Popronde (Dutch traveling music festival) results in even more shows and new born fans.

During the summer of 2010 the self developed project The Green Tour takes place. This concerns a tour from festival to festival with a mobile stage that completely runs on solar-, wind- and human power. Thanks to a truck on biogas there's hardly no harm done to the environment. Striving for sustainabilty is part of Florian's enterprise. Other examples are the recycled paper and eco-friendly printed cd-cover and the merchandise made of bio-cotton and bamboo.

After The Green Tour, hands will be layed on finishing the second album. The warm sound is maintained, but is presented in a more raw picture frame.
